They stand alot taller than before and are alot bigger boned . Some i have noticed find it hard to push on through tight cover . To many out crosses maybe? 1 Quote Link to post
milliken 791
you have hit the nail on the head there i seen a pack yesterday of welsh hound type some real big dogs but really looked the part are they getting to big? i dont know as im really only getting into hounds the last few years and have only are own pack up and running from last season so im still learning the ins and out but i do like the smaller type for the ground i hunt tight cover and fields but if i was hunting open moors hill and the likes of that i would go for a bigger quicker hound in my eyes you pick your type of hound to suit the land you hunt all the best robert Quote Link to post

VALLEY HOUNDS 43
Old welsh hounds were alot smaller in the leg ,there are a few hunts especially up mid wales that still keep the old smaller line going , just noticed over the last few years they seem to be increasing in size Quote Link to post

Linton Lad 90
Didnt think i would ever say this but i saw them stay with pure fells on a 5 mile point last season, on a a very fast hill hunt. These hounds were a good type, very narrow but good legs and a light weight body. Not my type of hound but they deserve credit where its due that day. LL. Quote Link to post

Hawkeye. 26
Phil Bennet + Mervyn Davies. One was 5', the other 7' , but both were welsh. Doesn't matter [bANNED TEXT] size, the important thing is being WELSH. Quote Link to post
