Millet 4,497
However, take the don dog, who is something like 5/8 collie (mother being a pure collie), or your pup, and johnnys, where they are about half collie, and try to say they are not a collie x? As far as i am aware mine and Johnny's pup's are 3/4 Lurcher and 1/4 Collie..so in my eye's they are lurcher based lurcher's.. ,, Quote Link to post

frankel 2,123
Its because the other breeds in them will still be makeing the difference between them and just collie x grey or grews any body whos had collie crosses and collie lurchers crossed to other type lurchers will understand wat your on about. maybe so Dell, but the differnce is that most minshaw are used as just lamping dogs, and colliexs are more day+night dogs. And the point i was making get the right collie x grey like i think i have can do just as good at the lamping game as most minshaws types, even though he wasnt bed just as lamping dog. i agree they are bred for long nights and for there stamina. But to say they dont work the day is beyond me. And by day i dont think you intended hare coursing. I think you intended general hunting up or ferreting. I dont agree with that pal Quote Link to post

I think it works out about half collie in them pups, anyhow. I'm not knocking it, in any way, shape or form, and it's a fairly pointless argument (bit like this thread), but them pups, don, etc, are lurchers, collie blooded lurchers. My earlier point was, that minshaw man is talking out his arse, as there is such a variation in the minshaw 'types' that it is stupid to say that they have their own running style, or that it's massivly 'uncollie' like. I should imagine swift, socks etc are nor collie like in their running, but Bron is, and i would imagine that Don probably shows some traits as well. Quote Link to post

I spent a couple of pages on the other minshaw thread trying to get this across to millet explaining the same things we ended up agreeing to disagree as we both wernt moving lol 1 Quote Link to post
