3rd.....26 medals...........only 2 of the most highly populated nations in the world above us...................................underachieving Brits my arse !!

Deary me what a sad statement that is mate. Its an honour to take part for your country in any sport...whether you win or not you have to give it your best and hope things fall in your favour, you are

Personally i have a deep seated mis-trust for people on forums that claim to know a "little bit" about everything and shove it down everyones throat but hey

British fencing had its biggest disappointment yet with a complete blow-out in the men's foil at the ExCeL on Tuesday morning.

Britain's David Florence saw his canoe slalom C1 medal hopes come to an end on Tuesday after finishing outside the cut-off for the final.

Great Britain's Rajiv Ouseph and Susan Egelstaff both saw their respective Olympic bids come to an end in the badminton singles on Tuesday.

Great Britain's men came within touching distance of an Olympic victory over Brazil but fell away at the end against the South Americans.

Great Britain's Shauna Mullin and Zara Dampney suffered a heavy defeat to Italy in their second preliminary phase match at Horse Guards Parade.

Great Britain missed out on further equestrian eventing medals in the individual competition as Germany's Michael Jung made history by taking gold.

Britons Tonia Couch and Sarah Barrow failed in their quest for a medal on Tuesday as China continued their dominance of the diving pool.

You started it GTE :tongue2:

Britains Lizzie Neave though, is currently online for a medal if she can keep it together in the womens K1. This would be great if she can pull it off, as she wasnt really expected to get one. The mens C2 has also got potential for David Florence again, although Britains Tim Ballie and Etienne Stott probably stand a better chance.

C'mon GB

Armature sport is far far far from armature. At this level. Underachieving. Lol. Underfunded for over 50 years. While the ussr , USA played out the cold war in sport , then china and the USA , fuzz you don't know what goes on , you prob don't want to and I can't be arsed going thru from the 70s 80s through to lottery funding etc etc you just keep bealeaving underachieving. Brits English. Welsh , scots natives against USA Romanians Russians. Mexicans immigrants. China kids taken from parents at birth put into sports schools , It ain't over till its all over , lol

It doesn't help when the commentator at the event, builds up the home athletes so much. At todays slalom the american commentator on the course, using a microphone for all the crowd and David Florence to hear built him up so much. That for me is too much pressure of the wrong type and I think it has a negative affect.

If the press layed off them as well, they might do a little better.

So are you saying all the British athletes who were expected to do well, failed because there bottle went. People often do better when their back is up against the wall.
