I didnt expect Britain to do anywhere near so well as Sports in schools has been severley neglected when it should be a main part of the curriculem. Also Goverments dont prioratise sport and Funding towards Clubs ect is shite. Every sport should be accessable to all. Some sports are still elitist. Lad from my village just about to join paras won a scholarship amongst the Rich down south to Row. His talent was undeniable but the sylubus was just as much about maths ect which he hated. He was a raggy arsed Colliery boy who just wanted to prove himself on the water. Not that easy but , ie , pass ya maths son or your out. Now he is off into paras. Look how well we have done. Imagine what we could do with the right Coaching, Clubs, School and Goverment support ? tell you what we dont want no medling goverment geting involved with there hare brained ideas , the lottery funding has attcheived outstanding succes , the scholarship is just that education for talented sports people the out come of the lad from your villiage will be picked up by the army and he will row again the history of the armed forces in sport is a long one chriss akabussy , dame kelly homes nigel benn etc etc if he is a good as you say you will be seeing him again we already have the coaches and the clubs its keeping the funds thats the problem Edited August 12, 2012 by gonetoearth Quote Link to post Share on other sites
