And I see what your saying abel, but do you not think that hen hatched chicks that are roaming with their mothers grow better and faster?

from what i have seen compared to my own incubator hatched chicks, not always.

Well in my experience PJ the chicks that have been hen hatched and free ranged have been better, growing quicker and generally seem healthier, than bator hatched chicks of the same age,   Cheers fd.

If your chicks or poults have good genes, good husbandry, good food I've yet to see a difference if done properly. Its OK if your a small/hobby breeder with a dozen or so chicks here or there to rely on broodies then do what works best for you.

Well it's all down to personal preference, and IMO MY chicks do better under broodies,
