If you are inviting people on to your permission to shoot, you must have the authority of the landowner in writing. It is also wise for your guest to have a letter of permission signed by your landowner, saves any misunderstanding.

who told you ,you need it in writing.

an agent of the landowner can give permission , ie a keeper if the landowner gives him authority to do so or lease owner with aurthority to invite guests
