EYE PROBLEM

Hi all. Picked an hob kit up a few weeks ago all was fine. Ive noticed that one of his eyes is almost half closed. Ive checked for any shit but all seems fine. The eye is glazed to. Wondering if this is a deformity that he was born with or is there any eye drops out there i could use to maybe help. Any help would be grateful. Mark

if it looks a opaque blue then its an infection, optrex infected eye from the chemist

Glaucoma/cataract/trauma...hard to say, but really needs seen by a vet before self-medicating.

one of this years kits was born with one eye..................................doesn't seem to bother him one bit.

yep same here got a hob born 3 months only 1 eye (1 eyed jacks)

Iv got a job with only one eye, if I ever see any sign of infection after he's been out I give it a wipe and stick a Jill in with them and they sort I straight out. Il stick a picture up later

I remember once I went to the vet for eye drops for an animal. never again. not only do they pull your trousers down, the sticker on the bottle said "do not operate heavy machinery".

 

As said above, just your regular eye drops should solve most problems

my vet recommended cows milk for eye infections - i know ferrets are lactose intolerant but have had to treat eye infections and believe you me it worked. just soak a bit of cotton wool in the milk and wipe over the eye use only once and repeat with a fresh tissue. seemingly there is a great antiseptic in cows milk.
