buster gonads 862
I,ve been back on the River Don today to try out my new pin [Okuma Aventa] on the roach, anyhow, had more bream than roach TBH which wasnt my intention but at least i had chance to put the pin through its pace's, its as smooth as hell and well built but the reel seat could have done with more of a shoulder on them as it was a bit loose on the rod handle and i had to secure it with a rubber band, this can be rectified by rolling some rubber raceing bike innertube up the rod butt [which i,ve done in the past to aid grip in the wet] but you shouldnt have to FFS, and while were at it the rachet on the reel should have been a flick on and off jobby not something you have to turn with your other hand because its to far from the rod butt to allow you to fick it on with your rod holding hand, there, moan over, its a very good reel but i wish they would ask somone that use,s them before they design them. The river is fishing well considering the weather weve had, i had around half a dozon roach, a dozon skimmers [only two needed the landing net] and a mixture of chub, dace, bleek and perch, fished for three and a half hours mostly on hemp and caster, if i get chance i,ll report back next time iam down there, regards, buster.
