Towards the end of the year i will be buying a van, second hand. will only have two grand to spend. What would be the best one to get, i do a hell of a lot of driving so somet that does the miles...looks aint important. Oh a estate van.

Was going to sell my nissan cargo to put money toward it, but me n the dogs have wrecked it that much think it will only be good for the tip

Old GPO vans were always much sought after, because they were regularly serviced, Bitchling. Not sure what the Royal Mail / Parcel Force do with theirs?

Get a Peugeot expert, reliable, good mpg and plenty of space, I had one for 3 years and never had any problems..........

swb= short wheel base there short 4x4s so you got the size of a van and the practicality of a 4x4 and the option off rear seat if you want them

i had a citreon belingo, it was cheap to buy but thirsty on juice so i changed to a volkwagon caddy, great tool!!!

 

if 4x4 is the road your going to go down then diahatsu fourtrak seem to get a good name for the money... £2000 should get one thats fairly fresh... the thing about 4x4's is that they are trying to make it harder for people to own them eg high tax and all that jazz...

.....and a lot depends on how much money you want to spend on fuel. The 4x4s aren't the cheapest things on earth to run. I've got a Citroen Despatch, similar to the Peugot Expert (actually more than similar: same engine and body: not really sure what the difference is bar the name.) VERY economical as long as you don't go every where at 90mph, and much more room in them than nearly all 4x4s. I had an Isuzu Trooper van before and it was tiny in comparison. I've got my van fitted out with cages and storage underneath. You could even sleep in it with 3 or 4 dogs if you wanted to. Drives like a dream too.

Small : Vauxhall Combo or a berlingo/partner

 

Big: VW transporter

Okay I have a nissan cargo, too big now.

will be looking for, estate type van or swb ?? .

Cheap on gas, as i travel a lot. Need to fit cages in .Easy for parts and too look after.xx

Go for Stevo's combo van Julie , what ever you do, do not get a 4WD, your a women driver ffs, you'll kill someone. No seriously if you don't need the 4WD don't by one. Too thirsty

I agree, the Peugot expert was over 45mpg, I've now got a Nissan Navara that caters for my needs but its only 25 mpg, bit expensive when you doing 75 mile round trip to work........... Forget a 4x4, a smaller van would be MUCH cheaper to run.

Peugeout expert/citroen dispatch/fiat scudo, all same vehicle, apart from badge, and excellent, i,ve just bought a new dispatch, and its the dogs. in a small van, pick up a s/h ford courier, large in the back, and an 1800 turbo engine, thats like shit offa greased stick, most excellent van, wish i,d never sold mine.
