MoChara 1,632
First lurcher i got was 3/4 grey 1/4 collie, cant fault him either. Very good cross, i doubt you will hear many bad points about them. Glad to hear you got sorted with a pup after all. All the best with the pup, Nicole. Quote Link to post

brambles 3,335
You should find it very tractable, and eager to please especially if its the only one you've got, only advice I would give is to spend as much time as possible with it and bond properly, as far as I'm concerned its all about encouragement and never over match the pup, you only get out what you put in, its a good choice of breeding can't see you going wrong with it atb 1 Quote Link to post
BORDERSCOT 3,816
The dog in my avatar was a 3/4 bred collie greyhound. I bought him in 1986 as an 8 week old pup from Hancock. This was the best lurcher I have ever had and one of the best I have seen. Brave, athletic and a real one man dog. Did the lot. Was still killing foxes at 10 years old. I miss him. Best of luck with the pup - how's it bred??? 2 Quote Link to post

brambles 3,335
Limited stamina i have to agree, but horses for courses, I have a 3/4 gh 1/4 beardie bitch at the age of 9 she has had her fair share of daytimes mostly found by her own nose rose and killed in within a rather short distance thus enabling her to have had 3 for 3 in her way, as for feet I've seen bad feet in alot of crosses, for me who isn't really interested in Sharp toothed prey this bitch has excelled in the taking of all things edible including taking of feather regular, also a good bitch for finding and marking nests of ground nesting birds, a genuine allrounder imo, I did breed her with a gh sal whip just to give them a bit more puff Quote Link to post
