Before was him hand stripped out with about 6 weeks growth , for some reason this year he was hairyer than ever before , well after a couple a weeks he won't look to bad

Well that was the idea , once a year clip out in the summer

Problem is that some dogs grow a thicker coat each time you clip them, and with others, it can actually alter the coat texture. I did a really stupid thing and clipped Sparrow out at a year old: nothing wrong with her coat, but it was very thick and the summer was hot: her coat never grew back quite the same after that. Nowadays I prefer to strip them out with the help of a Furminator.
