ferret rat tail ?

Hi lads my polecat jill has a rat tail why is this ? She has small bits of hair on it but its more of a rat tail than a ferret tail at the moment she is only a young ferret aswell ?

Ferrets moult like any other animals I wouldn't worry about it to much

it takes as long as it takes they all moult mine has hardly any fur on its tail but it always grows back by september ish

The reason that causes rats tail is unknown, but it is hormone related. Causes no harm and should grow out at the latest by the next moult. It does tend to happen more in summer. Atb.

mine has a few bald patches were she curls up and her side touches the base of the bed, she was really badly molting, and it was basically falling out, someone told me it was malnutrition, but she gets everything she needs

A couple of our jills normaly end up with rat tail in the summer but for some reason this year none have it although it doesn't look very nice it's nothing to worry about and it soon grows back
