i usually try an keep my kitts back till the there 2nd winter, i wil try them at the back end of there 1st season or even halfway throo if they are showing potential an gettin bored in the courts, but ideally id use the older ferrets for the 1st season an lets the kitts mature properly before i work them, i do expect a lot from a fitch, so its only fair to make sure it sound an up to the job in hand before starting them

I usually give the young Kits a bit of work in easy sets, as last year i was starting from scratch, after given up for a few years, but now having adults, if i had a this years youngster, i would just leave, and give plenty of handling, and let the youngster mature, and be a well muscled adult when facing the Bunnies.

i cant see why youd wait till there second season?

Because it best to let them mature..what's the point in risking making your ferret hand shy around hole's..and also gettin injured off a tough old buck let alone a stoat or rats which i have bolted on several occasion's..i was talking to a mate not long ago who had to have is adult ferret but down as it encountered a rat down a rabbit hole and it's eye was hanging out..that is the reason why you wait till they are fully grown and 2yr's is a good age to start them..i don't know how you have the ball's to reply to this thread after to the shite you have come out with lately..
