MoChara 1,632
Oh dearo. They're seems to be more and more big cat stories coming out, i think there is obviously true stories and just plain lies - but its sometimes separating the two thats difficulty. Your farmers story to me would ring true - because he isnt getting nothing out of it etc etc, if he was telling the papers and all about it then it would possibly sway more to lies. Its like the Lough Ness monster As soon as one person thinks they seen Nessie, anybody that visits the Lough will no doubt have their eyes play tricks on them, and will see him too.. But i dont think the farmer is talking rubbish - he obviously really thinks he has a big cat visiting his birds. Rather or not he is just mistaking the size for just an overgrown feral cat, is another thing. Just as well i wasn't for going out lamping tonight, id be shitting myself
Moll. 1,770
Aye, there ARE footprints and scat about the place. I'm no expert but i have not seen the like of them before . . . . And it's in a place that isn't really run with dogs, or beaten out or infact entered much at all, other than by me . . . . . Aye lab - i'm assuming that if it IS true, sooner or later, it will get lamped or spotted again, or even hit by the hounds when hunting starts up again (if it moves out of this particular woodland). I really want to not believe it but . . . . . Get some photos of the footprints, poo and damage to pens please Ideation. Put something easily recognisable next the each photo like a ciggy packet for size reference
Ratreeper 441
It could be possible that someone nearby released a pet recently, but it would have to have been kept illegally and it is extremely unlikely. Can you get some photos/video of what you are describing, especially the bit about the mesh being cut open? Because I would agree a big cat could smash into a coop eventually if it was hungry, but this isn't a cartoon and there is no way they could tear wire mesh cleanly with its claws
Phil Lloyd 10,738
Locally,..we did have a pair of cats that had been released by a travelling Circus/Fair outfit... Te Circus did not have the required 'paper work' for the Lynx-like critters, and simply set them free Obviously,..men that are out and about, after dark, were sure to run into them,...and , we did... It was emotional....

milegajo 595
A bowl of felix (extra large) and a trough of milk should keep him occupied... I'd keep a good gun handy and a large blade on my belt though...

Ideation 8,216
I will try to get some photos sorted, just for the record, it's not wire meshing, but some kind of synthetic stuff.
dogs-n-natives 1,182
Im sure someone on here would lend you a trail camera or two? That would soon find out the truth. Deffo make a lot of coin if you got footage.... even more if you then bagged it.
