trappa 518
Ive been digging up my potatoes for about a week now and and apart from a definite rise in the number of pots with slugs in (they are already hammering them!) it seems a decent crop. Anyway, my garden is on a slope but when i dug some of the ones up from the bottom, they have white spots on them?!? Ive googled it and it seems nobody is sure but its something to do with overwatering, which will be right considering the amount weve had in the past couple of months. Any one else got them?? Anyone ate these spotted pots?? Will get a photo up tomorrow. Edited July 25, 2012 by trappa

JohnGalway 1,043
Yup, lenticels. They're fine to eat, get them down ya. I didn't do a lot of reading on them but they act something like pores for the spud, happens in wetter ground I'm led to believe. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/240901-made-a-start-this-evening/page__st__45 (it's great to have a PA like Malt, I really had no need to reply to this at all) Edited July 26, 2012 by JohnGalway
