Kennel for a friend

Recommended Posts

Notice lab you are quiet about the timber to the floor its not picking holes it is constructiv advice you pratt

How do you know that the timber floor is not going to be coated with something.. :hmm:

its not a timber floor it is the plinth or skirting running right across the bottom of the pens it is tight to the floor now I am sure kennels need the occaisional washing out also a continuos door to 1inch from the floor would facilitate the easy brushing out of the kennels but suppose that is talking shite as labtastic says Edited by desertbred

Holy shit Sim! you funkin guys had me in tears reading this .....to funny. BTW my account got hacked in Feb and Ian straighten it out for me.

For all you hammer and nail guys I'll clear some stuff up for ya.

I poured a 26 foot by 26 foot concrete pad 4 inches thick with a 4 inch pitch over 15 foot the chainlink sits on.

Had a company come in and bolt the tin and aluminum carport on to the pad. I built the inside kennels which sit on concrete . i covered the concrete with horse stall mat 3/4 inch thick and that gets coverd with the best Idaho Barley straw money can buy.

The kennels inside are 4'X4'X5'long the doors are big enough for a medium fellow to squat down and step in, or get a rake and clean the straw ect.

The bins are auto feeders used now in the off season.

They have been in it for over a month with no escapes or feet getting caught ect. Stags are a very genital creatures and easy keepers used on light game lol.!

I remember seeing a set up in some woods in the USA on a forum somewhere, or was it in a book? Can't remember: it was for terriers: equally impressive, with inside boxes, electrified wire on the runs to stop the terriers scrabbling at the wire  , and the inside of the whole block lined out in wood, storage facilities etc. Superb set up.
