RogerTheCat 3
I have managed to damage the stock on my Weihrach HW60J .22lr by over tightening one of the two retaining bolts that attach the metal part of the rifle into the wooded stock. I find that after about 50 rounds these two bolts work loose so need retightening. During tightening I hear a crack and discover the wood in the stock has split. (I am having a run of bad luck at the moment) Anyway two questions. Firstly are these two bolts working loose a common fault on this gun or for that matter any 22lr? Secondly if the stock can not be repaired can anyone recommend the best place to buy a new one or give some idea how much a replacement stock would set me back? Quote Link to post
The Duncan 802
Bloody heck! Never had to tighten the stock bolts on mine in hundreds of rounds. How old is it? Could you take it back to the shop? Quote Link to post
RogerTheCat 3
The gun is 8 months old, I bought it new but it is my first rifle. I am going to take it back to the shop on Thursday and see what they have to say Quote Link to post
mjr88 50
The gun is 8 months old, I bought it new but it is my first rifle. I am going to take it back to the shop on Thursday and see what they have to say What ever you do dont admit that you over tightened the bolts. Just plead ignorant and say that the bolts have been coming loose ever since you bought the rifle which is why you are bringing it back to them to have it checked out. It's like anything in life, never admit liability unless you have to, Good luck, John Edited July 24, 2012 by mjr88 Quote Link to post
