scruff 1
do you think if a terriers got enough heart, it would still be too late to make a start at 2 year old. i bought the dog with full intensions of working him, but things never worked out. i know lots of terriermen but it seems there no all sportsmen. The two true terriermen i know both were happy for me to join them, but working nights and weekends didn't fit in with when they were out. The others i could join as and when, but i wasn't impressed with there methods. scruff Quote Link to post
alimac 882
not all terriermen do it for just the sport....its also called vermin control... dont know what the others that you have talked about have been up to though..... but yep collar him up put him to ground and find out that way, as no matter howmuch advise you get its only the dog that will give you the truest answer ali Quote Link to post

Guest ripstop
so he's missed a little early exposure. if he's made of the right stuff you'll see it soon enough. MINE HAVE ONLY SEEN LIMITED STUFF AND ILL BE STARTING THEM IN SEPTEMBER HOPEFULLY AND THEN THEYLL BE 17 MONTH AND 18 MONTH, IF I HAD THE CHANCE TO HOLD THEM TILL 2 YEARS I WOULD BUT THEN THE SEASON WOULD BE OVER BY THEN. TAKE THE TERRIER ON A DIG LET HIM RUN THROUGH AFTER A DIG BUT DONT FORCE HIM ONLY A FEW WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT AND IF HE IS MADE OF THE GOOD STUFF HELL WANT TO EXPLORE AND TAKE IT FROM THERE, I KNOW OF SOME TERRIERS THAT WONT ENTER UNTIL 2.5 AND 3 YEARS SO GIVE HIM A CHANCE - HOPE IT ALL GOES WELL FOR YOU Quote Link to post
