Some nice un there matie..I served my as a bus mechanic, worked on old Bristols but not as old as that one..did work on Leyland Lions 1933 models, bloody awkward to drive thought, the clutch was in the middle and the brake was on the right, took a bit getting used to..

Wasnt untill i went to resize them that i noticed it was marked Lincolnshire on the side , thought they would have changed it for north yorks though for the tourrist trade

Any idea how old it is Bill ?

Like I say the Leyland lion was about 1933, but dont hink that one is that old, could be an L type, more the 501s I have a picture of one of the ones we did up and used for weddings, films etc..

i was born in leyland. the morris dancers remind me of my childhood as does the bus. may day was magical when your a young un the dancers used to dance around a may pole with ribbons and there was everything from the old steam engines. to the old cars and busses. used to look forward to it. :yes:
