Advantage of Variable Lamp?

Recommended Posts

Im in need of a new lamp as mine packed in the other night, it was an old coleman.

I am looking at either a Lightforce Striker 170 or Deben Tracer 170, both retail around the £70.

Also they are both available in Variable power for around the £100 mark. What is the advantage for the extra 30 notes?

Thanks

Batteries last longer, as will your bulb, the spooking quarry thing, keeps you in incognito and limits bothering neighbours. Also very useful for squeaking foxes to the gun.

If you've got a spare £30 then get one  .

Lightforce 140 with 100w bulb (near enough same beam as 170 but smaller unit and easier to work with) and variable power a must for a good few reasons!

i was always under the impression that a 100w buld gets to hot for the lance and starts melting the head ... thought it was 75w max for them

Lightforce lamps are way better than deben, last year i tested them back to back at Arthur Carters, infact the deben fell to pieces.

I've read a few reviews saying the lightforce wiring was shite?

Cheers

Cheers I will go for the variable then.

Now to decide deben or lightforce.

I think a few people have had trouble with wiring but i have owned 3 lightforce lamps now and no bother at all.

Only had one lamp which is the striker variable and it saves battery and means you don't have to light up everywhere and everything with a full beam! And you'd be surprised how little light you need to scan a field for eyes.
