Gaz_1989 9,539
Im in need of a new lamp as mine packed in the other night, it was an old coleman. I am looking at either a Lightforce Striker 170 or Deben Tracer 170, both retail around the £70. Also they are both available in Variable power for around the £100 mark. What is the advantage for the extra 30 notes? Thanks Gaz Quote Link to post
Chid 6,583
dull the lamp down so as not to spook the quarry Quote Link to post
Gaz_1989 9,539
Ok thanks mate. That makes sense. Do people reccomend the deben tracer over the lightforce? It seems to get better reviews? Quote Link to post
Dave N 9
Lightforce 140 with 100w bulb (near enough same beam as 170 but smaller unit and easier to work with) and variable power a must for a good few reasons! Edited July 22, 2012 by Dave N Quote Link to post
Slipthebitch 9
I favour the striker but just my opinion, everyone to their own Quote Link to post
ianm 2,594
Lightforce lamps are way better than deben, last year i tested them back to back at Arthur Carters, infact the deben fell to pieces. Quote Link to post
leegreen 2,182
Batteries last longer, as will your bulb, the spooking quarry thing, keeps you in incognito and limits bothering neighbours. Also very useful for squeaking foxes to the gun. If you've got a spare £30 then get one . Quote Link to post

j1985 1,984
Only had one lamp which is the striker variable and it saves battery and means you don't have to light up everywhere and everything with a full beam! And you'd be surprised how little light you need to scan a field for eyes. Quote Link to post

Gaz_1989 9,539
I've just read that the tracer has got a dial on the back for the variable whereas the striker is a couple of push buttons? Quote Link to post
