He is lucky he was born in the USA, He could have been one of the 1.5 million killed Vietnamese that were unfortunate enough to have been born in Vietnam. As far as I know he failed his medical, he did not refuse to go. I wouldn't have a problem with him even if he did refuse, maybe he was bright enough to see what it was. In an interview in Rolling Stone magazine in 1984, he said, "When I got on the bus to go take my physical, I thought one thing: I ain't goin'."
