wabbit slayer 16
I find a boil wash then a quick spin does wonders. you can always finnish them off in the dryer with some of that fresh and dry stuff my wife uses. Quote Link to post
joe14 98
LOL You can have your ferrets neutered (jills spayed, hobs castrated) It wil reduce the smell greatly as it stops oil been produced by their hormones which in turn makes their coats a yellow/orange colour. By bathing them they will smell more as it strips the natural oils out of their coat which their body has to work twice as hard to reproduce them which in turn makes them smell more. Please dont bath try and bath them everyday. Their coats will be ruined and end up with a ferret with skin problems. ( Cant belive people giving that sort of advice) Even neutered ferrets, do have a faint smell to them. Trick is to keep their bedding, housing clean, feed a good diet. 2 Quote Link to post

lurche 48
isnt there smell the whole point of using them for work ? . ares are under the dining room window and dont seem to cause any problems,i worry more about finding the rancid piece of chicken they have stashed away somewhere than there smell itself. must admit when i first went near one it smelt but you dont notice it after a while, now they dont seem to really smell much. Tug 168
isnt there smell the whole point of using them for work ? Nope. Their prey drive, and rabbit's inherent fear of fast moving things with teeth is why we work them. Otherwise all ferrets would bolt rabbits, rather then the differing qualities of working ability. There's a difference between the sound of something coming, and a smell blowing through. You wouldn't expect rabbits to bolt if you dump our box by the hole and let the wind blow through.
