Wxm 1,638
i found a good supplier for air rifles, when i phoned them they asked if i would like to become a trader and i told them that i would be interested but how would i go about it?? they told me i needed a fac, why's this because i dont need a fac to go to the local gun shop to buy the same guns :hmm: i asked her how much are they and she said they are around £50, is that right and what do i need to get a fac?? cheers Quote Link to post
Lewis Ste 245
What you agreed to be was a 'trader' asin they can post guns to you as you have a licence to have a firearm and you could sell them on again to other people, I think. Somebody may tell you otherwise, Lewis Quote Link to post
Rake aboot 4,935
You need to be an RFD to sell air irfles mate, not an FAC but an RFD license. Quote Link to post
neil82 1,080
its not fac (fire arms certificate )you need, its rfd status (registered fire arms dealer), you may find that no matter what profit margin your offered that when you take into account the paper work and security precautions that its not worth the hassle, maybe you can buy the guns in your own name and then sell them as used (on paper at least) and then would not come under the vca regs but i think this is a risky road to go down Quote Link to post
Wxm 1,638
yeah thats it mate RFD so whats that then, i miss heard her Quote Link to post
Rake aboot 4,935
RFD, stands for , " Not Worth The Hassle " Quote Link to post
Phantom 631
You need to become a Registered Firearms Dealer. Much more to it than applying for the status! You need suitably secure premisis, safes, and a clean bill of healt (Mental Health) from your doctor, no cautions or convictions etc.... Tony Quote Link to post
clubshot 22
Check out your Local Police force Fire Arms - Web site for more information Sure you can down load forms - As stated a lot of paperwork for not a great returned That's why there are more dealers closing than opening - BOB/R Quote Link to post
AR177 588
I thought you had to have an FAC first before becoming a RFD? maybe thats just my misinterpritation of it. depending on the number of guns you have aswel you will need to up your security to comply with the regulations ATB Adam Quote Link to post

thedogman199 51
I thought you had to have an FAC first before becoming a RFD? maybe thats just my misinterpritation of it. depending on the number of guns you have aswel you will need to up your security to comply with the regulations ATB Adam No you can become an rfd without any knowledge of firearms what so ever (stupid but that's the reality) it is a registration of business in a specific police area I.e cheshire but you can trade countrywide and also any person who works for a rfd can possess, hold and use firearms without certification IN DIRECT CONNECTION WITH THE BUSINESS OF THE FIREARMS DEALERSHIP but wrx it is not worth the hassel I was one mate and its inspection after inspection and most of the time the inspectors are anti and know jack hope this helps Quote Link to post
