earlystart 56
Just wondering whats best for pups up to 12 months to give them the best start? My pup is 5 months now. What food? How many meals a day? Quote Link to post
U.L.D.A 289
I give a pound a beef in the morning and a pint of meal in the evening when I first get a pup they constantly have grub by them once they empty the bowl its gets filled again till there 3 months old when they get to 11 months old then they get the same as the others I put a pound a beef and a pound a tripe in a bucket mixed throgh with a pint of remills or another good meal half each Quote Link to post

sandymere 8,263
At five month I'd still give 3 meals a day, use a decent complete along with meat and soft bones such as butchers waste plus table scraps etc. Look for a slightly plump but not fat pup. 1 Quote Link to post

He looks good and healthy but getting weight on him seems to be a bit of a pipe dream If its Saluki bred don't expect it to look anything other than a pipe cleaner at this age. They don't have the subcutaneous fat of other breeds: did you ever see a beefy marathon runner? Muscular structure is very different too. 1 Quote Link to post

Slipthebitch 9
My saluki pup gets fed 4 tines a day with a decent dry food which she took to excellent and meat and she never puts weight on but she fit and healthy, she never stays still long enough for me to be worried haha Quote Link to post
