Floyd17586 454
I wouldnt be worried as she is very young and these things can take time depending on the bitch.my advice would be let her see another dog catch and kill a rabbit and hopefully she,ll click on 2 Quote Link to post
Floyd17586 454
Or let her join another dog [bANNED TEXT] it has caught the rabbit and she should start ragging at it Quote Link to post

Millet 4,497
I had a pup do the same many moon's ago..everytime it squealed he dropped it then kept recatching it..he clicked in the end..i say just keep at it and only slip the pup on stuff he has a very good chance of nailing.. Millet 4,497
Too true on the retrieving point Chart's..i had a dog a while back that was getting there with his retrieve..one day he was out mooching with another dog and he nailed a bunnie..the older other dog snatched it of him and knocked him a million mile back over on his retrieving..he did come good in the end but it took a lot of bunnie's to get him retrieving properly again..IMO never run a pup doubled up.. far too much can go wrong..maybe let him see another dog work while on the lead..but never running with another till he is older and learned his game.. stabba 10,745
Retrieving silent dummies and then retrieving actual noisy prey are worlds apart mate..just a minor shock to the system for the pup..it,ll get there in the end..just keep at it Quote Link to post
morton 5,368
Its a pup,it will miss some and drop some,as it gets older, fitter and stronger, mentally not just physically,it will miss less and stop dropping its catches,as long as the retrieving and basic training as been undertaken by the owner. 1 Quote Link to post

jf1970 328
Or let her join another dog [bANNED TEXT] it has caught the rabbit and she should start ragging at it do not take this lads advice, a pup running doubled up on rabbits is a disaster waiting to happen, and why would you want it to start ragging a rabbit? 2 Quote Link to post
