Chid 6,519
I went in to do a mechanic course - i really really wanted to do it, since i was 15. When i went into the careers place and sat down with a man, told him what course i wanted to do, he laughed and said "Oh are you sure you want to do that? Would you not be better doing a job better suited like a HAIRDRESSER!!!" I replied and said no i want this - he rang the head of course and they had a right laugh at my expense the dirty b*****ds The head of the course told the man to tell me - the course was full and that I should be glad because it was all fella's enroled.. Well least to say i came out feeling like pure crap (as if i wasnt good enough to be a mechanic, just cause i was a girl). I got my fella to ring up saying he wanted to enrole - well to our surprise there were actually still two spots left on the course. I never mentioned it again, knocked the heart right out of me - but looking back i should of demanded a place and took no shit. But i couldnt believe the way them men got on 3 girls were at college when i done my mechanic course and they was better than half the lads doing the course should give it a go if you realy want to do it

Care workers always seem to be in demand though the money they get paid for wat can be a demanding job is pity full then good carers dont realy do the job just for the money.

Ive seen alot of care workers due to my big sisters disability - the one's about down in this county (down) are very good at what they do, but we lived up in fermanagh, well they were stupid unhelpful and careless. What a difference a county makes eh.

That seems to be the case around here with some private care providers who are nothing but greedy parasites preying on the vulnrable who pay their workers minimum wage and will employ any feker. Thats true alright. Im not being funny or nothing like - but id say 1/4 or more of care workers over here are now all foreigners, so i think we need more genuine carers from around the district to go into that type of work - i think it would make the difference. At my sisters day center there are loads of men, and theyre GREAT at what they do, and in other care industries. O and by the way - respect were due @ TheBigDog
