fox assasin 16
hi guys I'm after putting my jill into the hob and they were together for about two weeks. The hob was dragging the jill into the sleeping area by the neck. This was my first time trying to breed ferrets so wasn't sure if it was going to work.I seperated them after 2 weeks and put the jill back into her own hutch. Her hair on her belly was shedding and her nipples were coming out getting ready. Her belly was big and i left her in the hutch for over 5-6 weeks or even more. She never had any kits and i don't know why.She looked like she was pregnant but i don't know what happened ? Any ideas of what happened ? Cheers Quote Link to post
happyferret123 13
She could have had a phantom pregnancy, or eaten the babies if she was stressed. Both happen a lot, there are quite a few posts on here on both if you do a search. 1 Quote Link to post
The one 8,479
You got to be on the ball at her due date , make sure shes no stressed .when she comes out to feed you might see shes thinner look for blood under the tail .listen for squeaking , a sure sign shes had some them if they go missing shes eating them . if shes no having them has she or the hob produced kits before ?. BrianSteven72 369
my mate had the same problem put the Jil to the Hob and everything went well she came out of season lost hair on her belly and started to gain weight but on her due date she had not gained that much weight and no kits , after another couple of weeks she came into season again and was put to the Hob again with exact same result so who knows what is the problem ! Just a note none of them are proven breeders they might be tryed with different partners next season Quote Link to post
