P5HEN 168
on the news this morning, it states that now we are having problems with urban foxes, is this one of the many adverse effects of the ban? due to population explosion ? might need a new breed of dog, lads n lasses "the urban lurcher" Quote Link to post
paulus 26
its due to the fox being the ultimate survivor and its ability to be able to adapt and thrive in a fast changing environment, unlike alot of our wildlife 3 Quote Link to post
walshie 2,804
I'm sure the tree-huggers wouldn't consider it a problem as they love to see their "pet" foxes in their gardens. When I got fed up treading in fox cr*p every time I went in the garden, I got a mate to bring a trap over and we had 4 in a week. Disgusting things. Quote Link to post
desertbred 5,490
This is what happens when tree huggers start treating Reynard as a pet and feeding them and preventing the traditional hunting activities. The rabies threat if it reaches here from Europe which it will will be spread like an epidemic nationwide by these little red f***ers 1 Quote Link to post

chartpolski 25,840
The ban changed nothing as regards fox hunting. In fact there are more Hunts now than before the ban. Also, more foxes are killed by shooting than with dogs. Urban Foxes are proliferating because of thing like food waste being dumped on the streets, overflowing bins because they aren't emptied as regularly, etc. The amount of leftover Macdonalds, etc, on street corners is unbelievable. Cheers. Quote Link to post

Malt 379
I reckon more foxes get killed by cars than any form of hunting so it's worth keeping a bit of perspective when talking about fox numbers pre ban or otherwise.. Don't know the exact numbers, but I read somewhere it's estimated at over 100,000 each year... Quote Link to post

I don't go into the big towns and cities any more than I have to mate, but there's no shortage of fresh fox pizzas on the roads round here! Quote Link to post
paulus 26
its hedgehog season here at the minute, spikey splatters all around the lanes Quote Link to post
Malt 379
Badgers here too, but people tend to drive round those great big stinking lumps instead of over them! Fecking cars should be banned, they kill more wildlife than anything else! Quote Link to post
desertbred 5,490
foxes are opportunist feeders and will go to any readily available food source, as already said the rubbish and food scraps left lting around the cities and towns.the hunting ban cetainly has allowed the population of these vermin to explode half the lads I know who used to hunt them for 20/30 years with dogs have now packed it in because of the hunting with dog act mainly because of age they cant really poach as well as they did lol and they dont think shooting is very sporting 1 Quote Link to post
