Recommended Posts

can anyone suggest a cheapish set-up? im planning on getting a lamp to start the pup off with, money is a bit tight atm so anywhere upto £100 is probably the limit. its just got to do maybe 2-3 hours a couple o times a week. once iv got a bit cash im guna buy a striker and a lithium battery etc but i need something to get her started soon> because she hasnt lamped being just 10 month. and i dont wana be relying on just goin out with me mate as if iv gota shout her back etc its not fair on him or his dog spookin every rabbit for miles around. plus id like to know she's guna run the beam etc before im out with company. any comments much appreciated and if anyone has an old lamp lying about maybe you could pm me (north east). i dont wana be gettin ripped off either so no con-men :cray: RIGHT!! cheers

Don't waste your time on a "starter lamp", mate. Save up and buy the best you can. Believe me, if you buy a cheap 'un, you'll be wanting to upgrade before long, and it will be false ecomomy !   Che

I use a 240 Blitz, I think it's got by far the best beam for the work I do. Downside is it's size ! You can't hide it in your pocket ! LOL ! I use 12v 12a sealed batteries, carry one and a spare in the car. They do me a night. I got an electronic charger from Maplins for about £18. They don;t boil the battery and are fool proof, can't cause damage if connected the wrong way ! All teamed up with an old army gas mask case, does the job for me !

Cheers.
