AR177 588
Quick way is If it has checking on the stock around the foregrip aswel as the pistol grip its a Mk3 If it only has it on the pistol grip its an earlier model ATB Adam Quote Link to post
escortcrazy 2
Hi its got the mk3 stock on it but im just not sure if someone has just put it on Thanks owen Quote Link to post
AR177 588
Im not 100% sure on this, but on the action if you can cock it and fire it by pulling the bolt back but not down then its a Mk3 , on mark 2 you need to pull it back and down or it locks the trigger like i say im not 100% sure on this it may just be a rumor i had heard - mine is a MK2 and you must cock it back and down before you can fire it ATB Adam Quote Link to post
escortcrazy 2
Hi I have been doing some research and someone said the serial number on a mk3 is located one the plate near the bolt But the one on this is on the barrel Where is the serial located on your mk2 Thanks Owen Quote Link to post
AR177 588
The serial number is only on the bolt plate if its a bull barrel - because the barrel is shrouded and cant be stamped ATB Adam Quote Link to post
AR177 588
I wouldnt be worried anyway i dont think they really changed the internals between the MkIII and the MkII, the stock is the main difference. If its got a MkIII stock its probably a MkIII ATB Adam Quote Link to post
Pelletpower 203
I had a mk2 and there cracking rifles!! Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
Easy way to tell, make sure gun is discharged and remove the magazine. Push the bolt forward and fire (dry fire). Now Pull bolt up, pull bolt back, do not pull it down into the retained position where you can put the magazine back in. Push it forward and down into the firing position, pull the trigger. If it fires it is a mark one or mark two mechanism. If the gun does not fire you have a mark three. The mark three has a mechanism where the bolt has to be pulled down at the end of the pull back! I know, I have had a mark two and a mark three! Quote Link to post

I had this mk2 and it was definitely mk2 as I had paper work from John bowkett that said so and I had to take the bolt through the full motion before it would fire??? Quote Link to post
