rats are capable of taking poults I know of a falconer that lost his redtail hawk (buzzard) to rats ok it was dark so they dont move very much if at all, and would not defend its self either when it dark as they cannot see. making it easy for a rat to over power a big bird that in the day would have it for a snack.

Go ask a few falconers then they will all say the same sort of thing the biggest killer of birds of pray with regards to animals is a rat in the aviary we cant all be wrong

the only way a rat will kill a redtail is if its full of rat poison when it eats it and even then it would need to eat one for 3 or more days

if that was the case mate i go ratting at chicken farms riddled with rats they would killing thousands if it was that easy,,,,,,,,,,for a start they would have a perch in aviary, i know rats can take chickens but it aint that common.....................................pmsl

Paulas you have not got a clue then mate if you think that the only way a rat can kill a redtail dont care what you say in they can't I know better and I guess one day if you have any you maybe unlucky enough to find out the hard way I just hope you dont. If you got bop then please ask other falconers and not the ones like yourself.

I did not say it common I just said they can and I know of someone that lost a redtail to a rat or rats it was a night attact so the bird would of sat there until it was to late as there night sight is very bad
