get various livestock knocking about the place and convert one of your barns into a feck off growroom

divide it up into allotments for poultry and veg growers big demand now as councils have built on most of them , put the barns for storage or start up work shops.

Dont know uk prices but here we buy them in as goslings roughly 7/8euro each and sell oven ready 50-60each depending on demand, a neighbour of mine rears 50 geese 100 turkeys & a few duck and guinea hens... Quail as well... She only kills whats preordered and any surplus geese are used as breeding stock in spring

with a smaller amount of land, if you want livestock of course, you should go for pigs, and rotate them, pigs require only a small amount of land to keep them happy, but the land takes longer to recover, this is where rotation comes into play. hope whatever you choose works for you

we use to keep pigs mate been thinking about it need to have a word with my dad about it..

market had dropped a bit recently, but they are an easy animal to keep Edited by buzzrobbie

we have kept geese in large amounts before, if you are thinking of selling them on live, tere is a small amount of money, to make it pay you have to keep quite a few, and if you are planning to sell them ready to cook e/g plucked and gutted, it is a hell of a lot of work by hand, 1.5 hours average per bird, youcan buy a machine that basically waxesthem, but it is a lot of money  good luck

theres money in everything mate but youd need a few geese or whatever to make any money and then youve gotta sell whatever your rearing, they dont sell themselves, you could rear then auction but you always run the risk of getting pence for it,if i were you i'd get a few turkey poults and guinea fowl and fatten em up for xmas, but get out there now and get your orders in and i'd also look into getting some tragopans or similar, and sell fertile eggs, theyre fetching £70-£100 for 6,you could have a nice little business in a couple o year, personally i'd still convert the barn :D
