scothunter 12,609
Well if you go to visit , or relocate somewhere.you will alter the way you pronounce English, i mean talk more proper , so you can be understood. So of you live in a place long enough, you will speak differently. Obviously you will still have your accent, and if you returned your native home, after x amount of years, I'm sure your mates And family would pick up on that.
gnasher16 30,057
I find accents fascinating......apparently we ( Britain ) has more diversity in our language than any other nation.......2 Spaniards for instance from opposite ends of the country have very little difference in their accents, whereas i now live barely 20 miles from where i grew up yet my accent stands out a mile.......look at the difference between a scouser and a manc and theres only what 30 miles between the two......... Worst accents i think are Bristol or Brummies.........both sound dosey as arseholes you just cant imagine there being intelligent ones

vixen 528
I find most accents amusing...but what i hate is people who end a sentence in a questioning manor !AAARRRGGGHHH ! The fifers do that.Drives me nuts. They always end a sentence with.Ye ken. My friends from up that way always end a sentence in...............like eh Try Dundee if you think the fifers are bad. Tak this road, then tAk it to left. f**k off I'll just "tAk" the road back to Falkirk, ya f*****g weirdos

NI accent is too aggresive, they always sound like they are pissed off.... so thats why that pig said i sounded like a cheeky bitch lol. Just so happens he was scottish too Compared to the southern accent its coarse though Mo aint it. When i was 18 my local pub was run by a woman from NI. AndyH 52
Brummies, they just don't speak proper. Us Yam-Yams, however, have the oldest accent/dialect in the country, with some words being traced back to Middle-English.
