earlystart 56
I like this idea there were some for sale back in may I did put the ad up on the weirdest cross thread. I think they have the second strongest jaw and nearly three times the bite of a pitbull. Not saying we need any more power in the jaw of our lurchers but just saying what I've read. And like few have said on the post , prob better where they are not in the UK . As i said prob was thinking more of just big breeds in general, because having been into big breeds in the 80s, there (kangals) are alot more healthy than any large breed of today, they aint been( ruined) by man , they are nearly feckin wild . was just thinking that some ped breeds that are used to make a lurcher have few health probs, and the kangal didnt , but they are not a easy breed to train from what i was told from a mate who as seen them, so best left in turky lol. gamerooster 1,179
them muslims like to use them for fighting. I like them Caucasian Shepherds mean guard dogs them. yes ive read that , they have killed pits and other breeds , these feckers got very powerful jaws wonder if you see;em in Brum one of these days lol Of course some amateurs have put pits in with kangals, but can't see the pitbull losing it's crown of no1 game dog anytime soon are you for real, its like putting a 4lb american gamecock against a 12lb shamo, only 1 winner i'm afraid pal. and before anyone starts, i do not promote animal fighing in anyway!!! Phil Lloyd 10,738
Think we already have better Ray, much better, they are big, heavy, aloof, not used to being trained......and slow, apart from that there great Sensible comments... Stayed amongst various semi-Nomadic folk,..their dogs are essential, for what they need Quote Link to post

Kangals are not game dogs!I also don't promote dog fighting but those that do will not be swapping pitbulls for kangals. Quote Link to post
Gitano 17
The large LGD's wouldn't add anything to a lurcher surely? Here in Spain we have a very few real, working Spanish Mastiffs that guard livestock and will work together to ensure the safety of their "family". Living up in the mountains one will go back to the farm to eat, leaving a few more to do their job, and then another will head back for a bit of tucker once they know that there are sufficient numbers guarding the livestock. A friend of mine is a boar hunter who keeps 35-45 kg "gripping" dogs and he says these Mastiffs will kill any of his dogs that go towards the sheep; proper old style LGDs. But they are absolutely the opposite of a hunting dog i.e. no prey drive whatsoever Quote Link to post
