bird 9,969
these dogs are very old breed, bred for work , and not been over bred by man . For a big dog they are very healthy good hips, and long lived dogs. A mate of mine goes to turky few times a year, got family over there. And these dogs still work in the mountains, guarding sheep+goats from wolves annd wild dogs. ive spoke before about the breed, was talking to bloke today who saw them couple of months ago over there, and he as had lurchers before, And we both thought that these Kangals from the working lines have great stamina, good speed for big dogs, good coat+feet, and clever dogs. Just think if no( ban) what they could offer to a lurcher for fox + deer work. . But i dont think they allow them out of the country, they have the Anatolian Karabash in the UK but its differnt to proper Kangal . I used to keep bullmastiffs in the 80s and know fair bit about large breeds, and the Kangal sounds like best of big breed regards any health probs, pity you carnt get them in this country, they could inprove any breed over here . Guest Moscow
What have a Kangal to offer that is not already in the lurchers we have in this country? IMO not a thing. Very romantic thought Bird but not a practical one Quote Link to post
