Lab 10,979
Neither Ratzinger nor any member of his immediate family joined the NSDAP (Nazi Party). Ratzinger’s father was critical of the Nazi government, and as a result the family had to move four times before he was ten years old. None of this is remarkable, however, because the same happened with other German Catholic families. Although many German Catholic leaders were willing to work with the Nazis, many individual Catholics and Catholic priests resisted as best they could, refusing to cooperate with a political regime they regarded as anti-Catholic at best and the embodiment of evil at worst. Joseph Ratzinger joined the Hitler Youth in 1941 when, according to him and his supporters, it became compulsory for all German boys. Millions of Germans were in a position similar to that of Joseph Ratzinger and his family, so why spend so much time focusing on him? Because he is no longer merely Joseph Ratzinger, or even a Catholic Cardinal — he is now Pope Benedict XVI. None of the other Germans who joined the Hitler Youth, were part of the military in Nazi Germany, lived near a concentration camp, and watched Jews being rounded up for death camps has ever become pope. The pope is supposed to be the successor of Peter, leader of the Christian Church, and symbol of unity for all Christendom. The past actions — or inactions — of such a person matter a great deal if anyone is going to treat him as any sort of moral authority. Ratzinger’s recollections of his youth in Nazi Germany makes it seem as though all the problems, violence, and hatred existed outside his local community. There is no recognition that resistance to the Nazis existed — or was needed — just outside his door..... Atleast Saho-man knew stuff...................

I would love to punch him to death mid-way through him preaching about charity and how beiung rich is evil whilst sitting on his gold throne, dressed in gold outside the palace he lives in as a small part of the billions the Catholic church hoardes away and owns in property. WILF 46,967
I would say that if folk took the time to find out they would discover that the pope shares many of the concerns and values about the destruction of western culture that many people on this site do. He has written widely on the subject and is in fact one of the only world figureheads to openly come out and tell it like it is. AS for the "nazi" tag, nazi is a word that has been planted as representing evil in our minds, same as the cover all word " racist" .......it's bollocks, the nsdap were nationalists plain and simple. I would say many folk on here are nationalists but that don't make them evil, just means they would rather put their own people first.......the fact that they gassed 6 million yids is an aside, Stalin did 12 million but no one ever bats an eyelid about that as he was on the " winning side" Let's have this right huh boys Edited July 24, 2012 by WILF
gaz 284
I didnt want this to devulge into a religious tit for tat and i never hold a mans faith against him but i have the opinion that all religions are a swamp of lies and coruption that do more harm and damage on this planet than good towards mankind regarding peace and harmony.....but what i will say is everybody who follows a faith should be aware of its history good and bad so they can open their mind and stop being so narrow minded with a BLIND! faith no matter what damage their chosen religious affiliation is guilty of....im not singling out the catholic church out here as i could post plenty about the church of scotland, church of england, judism and islam aswell but i feel labtastic is being a bit smug about the catholic/vatican/popes conections to the nazis and the facist movements which caused so much suffering and damage to the world not so long ago that our fore-fathers fought against and made many sacrifices to rid this world of. http://www.highstrangeness.tv/articles/catholics.php

Moll. 1,770
I would say that if folk took the time to find out they would discover that the pope shares many of the concerns and values about the destruction of western culture that many people on this site do. A priest was invited to attend a house party. Naturally, he was properly dressed and wearing his Priest's Collar. A little boy kept staring at him the entire evening. Finally, the priest asked the little boy what he was staring at. The little boy pointed to the priest's neck. When the priest finally realized what the boy was pointing at, he asked the boy; "Do you know why I am wearing that?" The boy nodded his head yes, and replied, "It kills fleas and ticks for up to three months".
