Im nearly sure those are non edible. Used to have a plant with berrys and leaves like that in our garden.

 

There defiantly not sloes if that's what your thinking when you say a type of damson. They grow on a black thorn bush and wont be ripe for another 3 months or so.

Defo non edable I'd say due to the spikey leaves most fruit bushes like sloes n damsons have oval Broad leaves n not black currents as there leaves a similar to blackberrys n raspberry I wouldn't want to risk it I've seen those about n was told not safe to eat
