Recommended Posts

So let me get this right, you took a 'free to good home' dog off the net, then promptly sold it, and are using the cash to buy a pup?

pretty much yeah! i didnt really want it i wanted a bitch pup out of it, n the dogs away working n all perhaps mybe happy even who knows? but let me ask ya this did it get hurt in any way ?

At least your honest about it,that would make you either shallow and greedy or a total tard,i don,t for one minute believe you are shallow and greedy.Good luck with the next mutt, poor F***er.

So there you go !! Saluki/Beddy/Collie/Bull/Deerhound X Greyhound and you can't go wrong !! LOL !!   Cheers.

All of the things I said were learning curves, knock my comments see how I care. My dog now comes back, walks to heel through livestock, listens, follows hand signals I'm working on the retrieve and b

Deer/grey x collie/greys make decent all rounders

As long as ur patient and level headed take a punt. I did and I couldn't be happier. My dog has foxed off, chased sheep, doesn't listen and doesn't retrieve.... But I wouldn't swap her for anything! She's my 1st lurcher and I'll be honest she has taught me more in 10 months than I'll ever teach her. She is a saluki, bull, grey, collie, whip! So trying to work out what she has thrown to is impossible because at times I see all of those breeds in her, but she's a lurcher through and through, we'll get there eventually. If your not, get a lab! Cheers

Rest my case.

What part of the highlighted bit is it that makes you happy? 'lurcher through and through' sounds like a badly trained liability to me!

My first was a Saluki / Grey with a touch of collie, she was a fantastic dog, very keen, used to catch for fun when we were out walking, this bitch could take woodies and pheasents as they flew low overhead, she was obedient, responsive and had the reflexes of a mongoose.

Her only 'bad points' were that her recall was not always great and once she had her quarry in her sights nothing (not even a barbed wire fence) would stop her. She cost me a bit in vets bills. She also never learned not to chase sheep or lifestock, but I learned loads from her.

LOL I miss that dog. She lived to nearly 15 despite a few close calls

I also agree that deer/grey and collie/deer/grey are great all rounders, in my own experience.

Passing about dogs like computer games. . . . . i can see a few problems for the dog.

And you bred a pup out of it, after getting it off gum tree? And particular reason you thought it was worth breeding? Did you get much of a chance to work it?

Like you said 'at least you made some cash off it' :icon_eek: That's a peddler mate, simples.

Maybe take time with the pup you've got, and put the work in, or it'll just end up getting passed on like the last one.
