boyo 1,398
Its forecast heavy rain tomorrow and the ground round there is pretty wet already. My lad plays cricket at Knipton just next to the entrance to the kennels and the ground was flooded several inches deep last weekend. Hope they are going to compensate the traders this year. And why should the traders be compensated for an act of god??? The show a rip off anyway! I remember show were set up by hunting lads who were bored in summer...now its 20 bar just to get in £29 !!!!!! on Friday. They've certainly lost out on a lot of money. dont care which way you look at it £29 entry fee is a right piss take and rip off no terriers or lurchers and they charge those sort of prices my way of thinking ihas always been to people moaning if you dont like the price dont go and dont moan but they the cla are really pisstaking with the prices they charge nowadays. god help it nexy year when they try to make up the money they have lost this year . better start saving up now ready.lol. jasper65 6
by all accounts the Royal Norfolk Show was £22 each adults £14 kids and £6 for the car park... would have cost me £86 just to walk through the gate without the money spent when in there ...
gonetoearth 5,144
The clue is in the name CLA A set back yes but won't. Break them , the cla ain't about lurchers bud it's about the cla if you don't get it you never will , the price ! Well let's put it this way ad rather pay it than go to any of the car boot sales running around the country under the guise of game fair with a terrier and lurcher show thrown together to kid people it's worth attending j!!!! Born Hunter 17,832
I live just down the road and we've had a fair bit of rain like most places. Once you get a few machines on the site preparing for the event it makes a right fecking mess, plus we have pretty much been garunteed heavy rainfall for the next few weeks. I heard a rumour last week that this was to be the last CLA at Belvoir, a falling out between the CLA and the estate over money, yet to have it confirmed though... poacher3161 1,766
The poor CLA they must be feeling the recession like the rest of us and to top it all the bloody weather.

And why should the traders be compensated for an act of god??? Equally why should the CLA keep the pitch fees that traders have had to stump up. I'm not talking about loss of earnings etc. I'm sure the CLA will have suitable insurance in place so they won't loose out.
Matt 160
They are refunding all tickets and traders fees. A sad day when the worlds premier game fair has to be cancelled. And to whoever suggested that the gamefair was started off by a 'couple of lads who were bored in the summer' I suggest you look a but further into the history..... Clue is in the name CLA (Country Landowners Association). It isn't cheap to get in, but no-one is forced to go Add the CLA to the growing list of shows that have been cancelled this year. I wouldn't want to be a wellie salesman at the moment

gonetoearth 5,144
There full refunds for any pre paid camping , entry tickets , exhibitor s etc. at least the had the common sence to wrap it unlike the GYS who pulled every one in knowing the condition would get worse , YOU CAN NOT BEAT THE WEATHER ON GRASS
paulus 26
should plan it on an old airfield, swinderby ect theres loads about, the way the weather has changed in recent times having it on grass is just one massive gamble
