As you say a lot of the dogs are advertised as laguna breeding where it's probably 6 generations back.

 

The Laguna kennel produced some excellent coursing dogs as did Nimrodel and Moonlake. Moonlake (Gay Robertson)is still breeding the odd litter of excellent dogs now.

 

It's not the be all and end all in whippets, i have whippets here with Laguna in there pedigree but wouldn't consider them to be truely laguna lines as they other lines too.

I've seen some disasters too mate, sticky up ears, roach backs etc etc. This is the result of people breeding from unsuitable stock and line breeding with very little knowledge.

I spent ages looking into pedigrees and traveled hundreds of miles when i was looking for a stud dog for vixen to produce 'Sagar' unlike some that just use the dog around the corner.

i know the beeding of mikes dogs very well thats why i said what i did ive also had full nimrodel dogs myself the dam of this dog is out of glen strike while the irons hot and he has no luguna at all in his make up i could be wrong

It seems to be the case to me that when moneys the main prioritie with these dogs that will be the out come.

Robert please check the breeding of strike while the irons hot, he is a decendant of sooty sam so he HAS laguna in his breeding 6-7 generations back
