chartpolski 23,980
There's some pure Borzoi's running in Oz, and some crosses in the US, and I've met a guy from Ireland who has Borzoi/Saluki/Greyhounds. Of course, they run them in Russia and Central Asia, but is there a niche for them here ? I'd love to see a top class Borzoi running here, but I doubt they would do any better than a decent Deerhound/Greyhound. Cheers. Quote Link to post
Richard Morgan 38
i fancyed a deerhound cross but end up settling on a beddy i like the old fashioned look that comes with a rough haired lurcher for the work ill be doing with mine the beddy better suited my needs i will deffinetly own a deerhound cross in the future, when i asked a bloke about what this cross was like on rabbits he said hed only ever seen one run and it got 28 that night he said it wasnt the quickest or the best turner but was the best striker hed ever seen. 2 Quote Link to post

What x is your bedy lurcher mate. I would love a deerhound x but wouldn't be able to do it justice on my land I've seen a few work over the years and i would say no better dog on fox and deer. I like ruff coated lurchers and I have a great love for the Bedlington terrier so for me on paddock size fields it's a whippet and bedy x. Atb Quote Link to post
