The worst bit about these bitchin sessions is that you have a lot more to worry about over there with the uspca etc YOU NEED SHOWS TO FOCUS YOUR CLUBS AND RAISE FUNDS TO FIGHT FOR HUNTING DO NOT DO THE ANTI'S JOB FOR THEM!!!!! Barrie Wades right there's as much danger from within our ranks as there is from outside. GET A GRIP. :wallbash:

why do theses people moan every year about the same shit at shanescastle if its that bad dont f*****g go :bye:

Its the biggest show in Ireland, with the best prizes by fair and the best facilities for terrier, lurcher & whippet owners INSIDE the fair. We had the IWTF there to help create a defence for our sports and we involve terrier & lurcher people in our PR and press events. We put together a good range of judges with usually a mix of local and UK judges. And still people bitch including ironically PEOPLE WHO WERE NOT THERE! Can you understand why my colleagues suggest that we should think about investing more in the other sports?

If one analyses the complaints they are mostly based on hearsay - not one person has used our objection system where they lodge £20 to make a complaint - this will be returned if the complaint is upheld or go to a charity of their or my choice if it is not. I have to say to anyone who has a serious objection please put up and take advantage of this if you have PROOF otherwise I really do think you should keep your opinion to yourself. You demean yourself, judges and event organisers by making unproveable allegations and you take the joy out of winning from those whose dogs do well. Think how you would feel if your dog won and you had to face a barrage of allegations.

If you went back over all the thread of all the shows 90% of the people the moan and complain are the same people that complain on each show, make's me thing they could be just antis doing their best to get people royaled up and pissed off over shows and trying to turn people off going to them,FFS shows are only a bit of fun,so people should take them as that and stop taking them so serious ,Shanes Castle was a great show this years despite the bad weather ,the judges done well and the organisers done a great job keeping everything running smoothly .looking forward to Birr now which IMHO is the best gamefair in the Country

I would agree with you there l330 a handfull of attention seekers who are sore losers and are not happy unless they are bitching and moaning all the time, if I dont like an element of a show I bring it to the attention of someone who can sove the issue, I try to keep it constructive and try not to turn it into a personal attack.

The thought crossed my mind to take the misses over Ireland for the weekend and go to this show. Im glad I didn't to be honest, the amount of moaning and topics that go up after the Irish fairs is unbelievable, cheating greyhounds, dogs stolen, judges, classes, the list could go on and on and on and on, doesn't set a good image of the wonderfull place that Ireland is for outsiders, I know a lot of Irishmen and they are all good lads but f**k me good job I do or I'd have my doubts.

Ps for the record the 2 guys that judge this fair are good lads and I think it's well in their capabilities to do so

I looked into going over with the missus and dogs but decided not to due to the weather,If i was going to travel all that way I'd want the weather to be scorching.

I'm also glad I didn't go I the end. The amount of biitching that goes on after some of these shows is a joke. Stupid allegations of bitches entering in dog classes

Why do people moan on here? If my dog was racing and a dog not eligible for that class was entered I would certainly object there and then.

I wouldn't wait until after the show to accuse people of cheating or call the judges.

It's meant to be a bit of fun! FFS.

I also believe the judges to be knowledgeable enough to judge their respective class

That's why I don't bother my arse with shows whatsoever. Too many arseholes with too many show ponies and judges that don't pick out working dogs. I'll stick with my ugly terriers that I dig over 6 months a year anyday of the week thankyou.

It would be a real shame if overseas visitors were put off coming to this show just because they read the crying on here. No doubt there were folks who never ventured far from the lurcher and terrier rings but there were lots of other things to see and do at the show. Granted, the weather was not great but under the circumstances, I thought it was two good days out and well worth getting the wet gear on.

I'd like to know why there was a seperate class for dogs and bitches in the russells and none for the lakelands ?

It looks like they are avoiding giving you an answer. It is very odd for any show to run seperate classes for dogs and bitches in the russells and not any other breed. Maybe they will explain why, as I am too looking forward to the explaination for this.
