muddy210 34
there should be no need to scruff them or flick their noses just handle and handle some more they will get the idea let them enjoy been handled and have no fear of your hands then they should stop biting if you flick them or scruff them and cause em pain then they will learn to fear your hands. you have ferrets yes they will bite when they are young and maybe when they are older in some circumstances.but getting them to not bite is all down to handling them in as many different scenarios as possible let them run on the grass then pick them up pick them up from the hutch and put in you carry box then pick them up from there pick them from exiting a tunnel all these things will get them used to you and your hands. get some lamlac or similar put a bit on your hand let them lick it off they will soon realise your not gonna hurt them and they wont bite. coneykenny 98
the wee fick on the nose works a treat mate.ya cant beat alot of handling.some might not agree with me but any of the more agressive i place my finger tip in there mouth so they cant bite down hard, they dont like this at all and they`ll come around soon enough .also works with older biters Quote Link to post

ferret100 47
Feed them well half hour before handling, let them out to burn off some energy somewhere safe for a while, then handle when they're calmer. I'm one for letting them enjoy handling, I use Ferrets Formula and they lick hands and so look forward to being picked up etc. That stuff makes life much easier with ferts. Quote Link to post
