Give them some minced rabbit or chicken, or some dry ferret food softened with hot water. Little and often is the key, mine were gumming whole rabbits and pigeons at 4 weeks old. Quote Link to post

This always worked for me as well. Always let them nibble a finger from an early age they soon get to know it isnt food and stop.
