Hi

Has anyone been fishing in the Trent recently between Smeatons and the back of the pits? I'm havin 3 days and nights this weekend comeing,I imagine there a good head of water flowing with all the rain,from experience this produces a good few barbel

Cheers guys we fished the Smeatons stretch on peg 7 under the bush the other year when we had all them floods, the barbel were going crazy for a big chunk of bacon grill and luncheon meat,the flow was scary but worth it,a few of us have fished this stretch for a long weekend for the past 12 years and never blanked,a bit of a chill weekend to be fair,I used to fish farndon as a kid with the old man near the marina,the pub used to let you camp near the pontoon,caught lots of bream and some were a good size,

8 oz is light at the minute,a work mate Match fishes it regular

I,ve still got a box of worm leads that i use to use when the Trent was in flood, dont know what they weigh though, if it didnt hold i just clipped another on untill it did, caught some good Chub on the worm in flood, buster.

Don't get no pics off the river but here's a bream and the biggest barbel of the session and a new pb's with both and like a nob forgot the f****n unhooking mat was fuming with myself
