Mate had a couple, he had no 'way' (pun intended) to guage ther weight, so we took up the abatoir and the bloke said they could be double that and more. Anyway, he give me a few joints for sorting out the transport & to be honest I didnt really rate it. I agged him for some sausages and he give in and they was good. I do miss an english sausage :icon_redface: so just got myself a cheap mincer sausage stuffer, think ill buy the cheap deals on supermarket pork and get the 'herbs' from some english sausage internet outfit. And get a bit of wild boar and roe from autumn onwards so can do some game ones.

Anyone know where I can get preserved skins and sausage additives please, found mutton intestine local thats about it.

Licker 1 , whats the proceedure for getting a number .

copied from the site i found it on mate

"You will need a County Parish Holding (CPH) number for the land where you will be carrying out agricultural activity or keeping livestock. To obtain a CPH number, you will need to contact the Rural Payments Agency (RPA)on 0845 6037777".

One thing i have learnt about pigs is that they run to fat easily, so dont over feed them, and if possible a chance to do some free ranging is good.

I spend ten quid on a bag of feed, that lasts a week or just over between 3, plus any additional veg etc
