I have just had a call from one of my volunteers, a friend of hers husband went into hospital for a routine op & has died, leaving behind 14 working lurchers  .

His wife is wondering if to pts them all or pass them to me. I am still waiting to hear from her.....but if i do i was wondering if any of you guy's from the northwest could help out with kenneling?. I have offerd to go up and see what type of lurchers they are and what age as you never know one of you may want one.

The dog's are in the Accrington area atm, so some of you may even know the guy.

Thanks maty, i think some maybe small...as my volunteer said they was used for rabbiting. I am trying to find out what type of kennels the dogs are kept in, because if they are one's that can be dismantled and rebuilt, i'll have them here.

Myself and Caro have offerd to go walk, clean and feed the dog's for her as she has never had nothing to do with them & hasnt a clue what to do.

No you dont know whats round the corner, so please guy's think about what will happen to your dog's if somet happend to you, morbid....i know , but it could happen  .

Yes!! dandyman i am up for it...if there is one thing i have learnt, that is a dog is very loyal & behaves how we have taught it....and deserves the best chance in life.....we owe them that....it's the least we can do for there loyalty, and uncoditional love. This guy loved his dog's so the least i can do now is try to do my best for them.

I havent seen them yet, so i dont know what they do  . As soon as i know i will post it on here with pics ect. The woman hasnt rang me yet so i'm getting worried, She is worried because rescues dont home to working home so she thinks the dog's will spend there lives in kennels. But the volunteer is doing her best to let her know that i do home to good working homes.

Polecat...thankyou so much, i have a feeling i'll need all the help i can get  .

Are you in my area? .

Thanks for the pm's too folks xx

Come on lads, there must be a few of you out there with a spare kennel or two? Call it a good deed for dogs in need. I cant imagine what it would be like to die suddenly and leave a legacy of dogs needing homes  , If anyone can help, please PM LB and offer your help :good:

I have just heard from my volunteer, this is the story so far.

It's the womans husbands funeral tomorow, she is obviously a wreck as there had to be a post mortem.

Someone is hopefully looking after these dogs till she feels she can face the problem, The volunteer is going to contact her on wed morning...she may then feel she can decide what to do.

Thank you all for your interest help and patience with these dog's. I will up date as soon as i have heard anything.
