My Mum died on the 15th June, after a ten year battle with Lymphoma, a form of blood cancer. During her battle she endured three chemo treatments, went into remission twice. I'm thankful for the extra years the doctors and researches have given us as a family. Now I would like to help rise some money for Leukaemia & Lymphoma research, this charity does a lot of research into blood cancer, if i can help gave one family extra time, however short, then that would be great.

The question is how?? Sponsored walks, bike rides even jumping out of a plane are so normal.. Any suggestions???

Most charities will be more grateful for a regular monthly donation than a 1 off action man style adventure ;) .....but somethings better than nothing of course so good on you.

Very sorry for your loss.

I make monthly donations to both cancer research and maccillian, but this is a way for me to deal with my loss, to do so good..

Sorry to hear of your loss.

How about some form of shooting challenge then, that you tell everybody about on here, and get members to commit to some form of sponsership. You can then video it, or get Mr mole to video it, and put it on youtube for everybody to see. Once the evidence is there, then the cash can be collected.

I know it is only limited membership on here but I am sure there are enough members to spread the word on other forums, and it is such a good cause, that any of us could need at some stage in our lives.

I read about all sorts of expert shooting by you airgunners I am sure someone can think of something. Maybe Si Pittaway is a start.

Instead of the usual fundraising with the usual (Or not so usual) activities, how about raising money to do something yourself?

I'd rather give money for a community project than to a charity where you don't know here it goes.

For example, write a business plan for say a project that would enable you to hire a minibus and driver for 2/3 days, and take some of those affected by cancer out for a day or so.

It could be a care home or hospice, they could go on a sightseeing tour or have a BBQ (With plenty of booze), have a day away at a seaside resort (Weather dependent), or anything to give them a break. If it was a local thing you could invite other groups and have donation options at the event. Once you have a written plan it will seem a lot easier and you will have a target to reach ;)
