wilbur foxhound 480
if your wanting them on fox only then you should have run them with fox only dogs to start with, they will take a bit of stopping on rabbitts now ,they will hunt a fox when the bump in to one am sure, just have fun with them and good luck with them,wf 1 Quote Link to post

shotforthepot 4
We have a beagle in our pack and she's just about the best there is on charlie, stopping her is the worst problem but she can get under stuff where the bigger ones can't. Hounds starting on rabbits= I've been with our pack for 30 years and some of the best hounds we've had started on rabbits as pups even though they were supposed to be out for foxes. Me and Dad often reminisce about how our old Hound would be told to leave those bloody rabbits alone. I don't think it hurts much if they start on them IMO. In point of fact, often it pushes a fox out whilst they go on rabbits. 2 Quote Link to post

LIAM MOONEY 1
nothing wrong with them hunting rabbits its all about learning them to hunt you'll know when they hit a fox....if your not in the right place to stop them you'll watch run and run Quote Link to post
