R.A.W 1,987
welcome to the world of lurchers my friend. it will be frustrating and hardwork but you'll get so much joy out of it if your willing to put in the hard work. start at the begining. tease the pup with an old sock then when they mouth it make a fuss , let them have it . when that game is mastered start to retrive in a hall way when they bring it back make a fuss. move on to a rabbit skin keep every session sort and before food. most of all mate spend loads of time with the pup, bond and take to the pup to diffrent places .you'll be suprised to see how much quicker a well socialized pup learns. that should do for a start theres loads more you'll have to teach that pup. good luck and have fun Quote Link to post

houstyify 22
well to be honest ive only had it for about 4days now, it sits most of the time when i tell her to and she comes when i call her, where i live i have loads of fields around me, i walk her through fields (off lead) and she stays by my side, actually i fall over her most of the time. when it comes to fences and gates i climb over or through and shes running about mad trying to get her own way which she does. as for toys i cant really get her interested in anything ive tried balls a sock a teddy, but she does not seem bothered by it. i cant get hold off rabbit skin or anything like that as i dont know anyone round here really, and i dont have any other dogs, missus says am allowed this one just ffs lol. is giving a young pup too much attention when their small a bad idea? i mean would it ruin it if its spolt with cuddles and stuff because my missus' doing just that lol. ive heard people saying it would ruin a dog is that true? its from working dogs. cheers Quote Link to post

luka 8
i dont think you could ruin a dog by spending to much time with it. my dog comes pritty much everywere with me and has made him very well socialised. always around busy places and stuff. he whines a little bit when i first go to work but soons stopps. he is doing most things i ask of him and is just 19 months old and has spent lots of time cuddling up with the misses and getting spoiled but he is corrected fast after he does anything he shouldent. seems to be working for me so just enjoy your pup and dont rush in to anything with it. atb 1 Quote Link to post
